Huffman 'sad' about Desperate Housewives

Felicity Huffman is "sad" that 'Desperate Housewives' is coming to an end.

The 49-year-old actress - who plays Lynette Scavo in the comedy-drama series, which is now in its eighth and final season - will be disappointed to say goodbye to her alter-ego, but she is "grateful" for the "fulfilling" experience.

In her final blog for the iVillage blog series CelebVillage, she said: "As the show is coming to an end, I have many conflicting emotions, definitely I am sad, but more than sad I am grateful, grateful for the most fulfilling eight years of my professional life, and grateful to be in the midst of this wonderful community."

Felicity - whose role in the show saw her win an Emmy Award in 2005 for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series - "loves" the "family connection" on the 'Desperate Housewives' set, and she admits being around a lot of people is one of the reasons she got into acting.

The blonde star - who has been married to actor William H. Macy since 1997 - wrote: "I do everything by committee. I love listening to the wisdom of others and asking for advice. It is a strength but like all strengths it has an obvious weakness embedded in it.

"I am one of eight siblings, seven girls and one boy. My husband jokes that when our family decides to go to the movies it takes 12 phone calls and three people cry. But I love a large family.

"I love being a part of a community. It is one of the main reasons I love the business I am in. I love the family connection that develops on a set or in the theatre."
