Face/Off and Red Cliff director John Woo is working as the 1st Mmax Future Pictures Festival's jury president to nominate 70 videos from 1,500 online submissions.
Woo's jury includes actress Yao Chen, singer David Tao and senior producer Long Dani. They will later choose 24 pieces from the nominees and team up with 15 professionals from the entertainment, advertisement, media and marketing industries.
The jury will focus on the works' creativity and sincerity, Yao says.
The Mmax Future Pictures Festival seeks to discover creative online videos, including short films, advertisements, serial dramas and variety shows.
Organizers will announce the final winners on March 26.
