Michael Jackson is the only star Justin Bieber looks to for career guidance.
Both singers became international sensations when they were very young, and unlike many child stars, Michael went on to have a long career.
Although his later life was sometimes controversial and ended after he was administered a fatal overdose of hospital grade painkiller Propofol in 2009, Justin still sees him as his best role model.
He said: "A lot of teen stars didn't really work did they? So I'm doing my own thing. The only person I look at for guidance is Michael Jackson. I definitely look at his career when he was young and growing up in the spotlight. Career-wise I would say he's the biggest artist ever."
Justin, 18, has also said a track on his new album, 'Believe', is about fan Mariah Yeater's false claims he fathered her baby, and is inspired by Michael's similar but fictional account of a fan claiming he'd fathered her child, 'Billie Jean'.
He told Q magazine: "We definitely took inspiration from that song. I wanted to write something different and something the fans would be connected to and understand.
"I wanted them to think, 'Yeah that's Justin's life and he's talking about stuff that's really going on.'"
