1993: Won the Xinhai Cup Piano Competition in Beijing
1995: Won first place at the International Tchaikovsky Competitions for Young Musicians
2001: Traveled to Beijing with the Philadelphia Orchestra on a tour celebrating its 100th anniversary
2001: Made his BBC Proms debut at the Royal Albert Hall, which was described by The Times of London as possibly “history in the making”
