Nearly 200 representatives from more than 40 high schools in Beijing attended the Beijing Model United Nations Summer Seminar for High School Students which opened on August 1, 2013 in the capital.
The opening ceremony held by Wu Tong, secretary of the seminar. Li Xiaoqiang and Liao Xiangbing, both vice-president of TsinghuaUNIS Education Institution, joined in the opening ceremony. Li made a speech about youth activities and the college entrance exam.
At the opening, Wu Tong reviewed the development of the seminar and shows appreciation for the efforts of previous committees. As an organization operated completely by high school students, Beijing Model United Nations has held a "general assembly" eight times since its founding in 2010.
