Comment on "China evacuates 12,000 from Libya, sends frigate to help" (China Daily website, Feb 25)
It was good to read that authorities have made great efforts to rescue Chinese citizens working abroad during emergencies.
China has been working hard to evacuate thousands of its nationals from Libya. As the report said, this is one of the largest rescue operations to bring Chinese nationals home from aboard.
The number of Chinese nationals in Libya is huge, and our government has done a good job of the rescue operation until now.
I was surprised to read about the efficiency of the Chinese government's operations, especially because it doesn't have much experience in this area.
The country has been evacuating Chinese citizens by air, sea and land routes, and thus has not only guaranteed its citizens' safety abroad, but also fulfilled its responsibility as a great power.
