The year 2013, with all its ups and downs, will soon be in the past. With 2014 on the doorstep, let's make resolutions for our dreams and hopes next year. China Daily's mobile phone news readers share their views:
I have spent the most stable and fulfilling year in my college life. Instead of going traveling, I went to be a volunteer teacher in a rural school. The huge disparity in education made a big impression on me. Students in rural schools, especially in underdeveloped areas, cannot enjoy the most fundamental respect. Their study time is largely occupied with all kinds of labor. Hopefully the education authorities will detect such a malpractice and give it due attention. As for me, hopefully I will be admitted into my dream collage and strive for my dream in my favorite place.
MAOMAO, Tianshui, Gansu province
As a senior student, first of all, I hope the composition of my thesis and thesis defense could go smoothly and, of course, I find my ideal job after graduation. Meanwhile, I hope my parents will be forever happy and healthy and I wish the ones I love and those who love me every success. Last but not least, I wish China Daily mobile news can continue to develop better and better and I wish every reader a happy new year.
XIAOXIAMI, Fuzhou, Fujian province
A song in a recent movie has reminded me of my aging parents. I am now living and working in a different city from my parents and have to travel by train to my hometown to see them. But every time I pay them a visit, I always find the train too slow and there are too few of them. Hopefully there will be more trains from Beijing to my hometown and the trains will be faster so that I can visit my parents more frequently. Apart from wishing them good health, it is my biggest new-year wish to spend more time with my parents.
MOMO, Beijing
I graduated this summer and found a job in Hohhot that I like, even though my decision was not well understood. As an environmental inspector, I hope our efforts can be taken seriously and recognized by more companies and appreciated more by the public in 2014. Also, I hope I can do make my own contribution to environmental protection.
A READER, Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region
We fought for our dreams together and left our own trace in college life in 2013. In the coming new year, I will treasure it as my last one as a student and hope I can realize my dream and become a teacher, standing on the rostrum sharing my youth and knowledge with lovely schoolchildren.
XIAYUYIQING, Nantong, Jiangsu province
I hope I will be enrolled in the doctoral program I have applied for in the coming year and become a better me. Hopefully I will find my other half who is willing to spend the rest of life with me. May my 2014 be a fruitful year.
