Comment on "Japan brainwashing kids" (China Daily, Jan 30)
Not only children but also youths in Japan have become vulnerable to the machinations of right-wing forces, led by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. The children have been kept away from learning the real history in schools. As a result, the younger generations have little knowledge about what Japan did in Asia before and during World War II.
In addition, they have not been taught how dangerous it would be for Japan to change its pacifist Constitution. It is indeed sad that Japanese children have been deprived of the chance to learn from history.
