LONDON - China's Ding Junhui whitewashed Mark Davis to storm into the last 16 of the Welsh Open on Monday.

Ding rattled off breaks of 81, 45 and 44 before two half-century efforts in the next wrapped up victory.

The two-time UK champion will next take on either fellow Chinese cuemaster Liang Wenbo or reigning world champion John Higgins in the next round of the tournament in Newport, south Wales.
