China leads medals table at 3rd Asian Beach Games

HAIYANG, Shandong province - China continued on its winning track to lead the gold medals table at the 3rd Asian Beach Games after grabbing four golds on Monday.

Chinese climbers contributed three golds in women's speed climbing, men's speed climbing and women's speed relay apiece.

Wang Yang, 18, claimed the gold medal with 9.6 seconds in women's speed climbing while Zhong Qixin took the gold in the men's speed climbing.

"I am satisfied with the result, my next goal is to practise harder and to take the world championship title," said Wang after winning the gold medal.

In dragons' boat race, the Chinese women's team added a fourth gold in 200m event.

Elsewhere, Chinese players Chen Chunxia/Hu Anna finished runners-up in the women's beach volleyball after losing to a Thailand pair in the final while Indonesia won the men's title.

China now leads the tables with seven gold medals, Indonesia and South Korea were second and third on four and three separately.
