Guilin Park

This is the most popular destination to enjoy osmanthus among Shanghai residents. More than 1,000 osmanthus trees from 23 varieties are grown in the small park, which was built in 1929 and completed in 1932 as the private garden of the city’s notorious gangster Huang Jinrong. What could be more relaxing than enjoying the fragrance along the corridors, bridges and pavilions? A cup of osmanthus Longjing tea will effectively remedy any tiredness.

Shanghai Botanical Garden

In the southwest of the botanical garden there is an osmanthus garden with more than 8,000 osmanthus trees covering an area of 19,000 square meters. Among them an osmanthus tree that is over a hundred years old attracts much admiration from visitors. This could also be a perfect park for families because children can learn about osmanthus trees as well as more than 6,000 species of plants in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
