The 2015 Chinese Tourism Conference and Golden Journey Prizes of China award ceremony were held by the Travel Channel on Monday in Beijing.
Dozens of experts, scholars, tourism industry entrepreneurs, scenic spots representatives and heads of domestic tourism bureaus exchanged views about the development of the industry
One of the topics they discussed was intelligent tourism, which refers to how new technologies are aiding tourism management and promotion.
Cai Jiacheng, deputy-director of Information Center, National Tourism Administration, said tourists can now search for destinations, and book transportation and hotels all through their mobile devices.
Han Guohui, president of the Travel Channel, said the channel has integrated e-commerce, TV series and theme parks to promote tourism corporations and products. Tourism should be combined with other fields such as the arts, culture and fashion, Han said.
