The annual Voting for China Road Trip Route was recently held online and 36 new routes were declared winners, based on 12 themes including leisure and cuisine.
Shanghai iDriver Culture and Media Corporation started the campaign in 2012. And since then, tourism bureaus, travel agencies, self-driving clubs and automobile brands have designed 1,856 road trip routes across the country.
The final winners were decided by online voting after a panel of judges nominated dozens of routes.
The company will choose one route from each theme and organize travels along picturesque coastlines or rugged mountains in March.
"Road trip is one of the main ways of traveling in China. We want to cultivate the group of people that loves driving," said Li Keqi, company founder and CEO.
