8,000 Marijuana plants seized in Michigan

CHICAGO- In one of the largest raids in history of the US state of Michigan, authority seized about 8,000 marijuana plants worth at least 8 million dollars from a property in Lenawee County, according to a Tuesday report of Detnews.
Troopers from the Office of Monroe Narcotics Investigations made the seizure Monday from a greenhouse, barn and several fields in Rome Township, according to Michigan State Police.
The marijuana, which is ranked as high quality, could worth as much as 4,000 dollars a pound on the street, official said.
The suspects, a husband and wife in their 60s, were arrested and charged with manufacturing more than 200 marijuana plants and with conspiracy. They could face up to 14 years on state charges.
