Katrina Landis, CEO of BP PLC's alternative-energy business, promotes renewable sources such as wind and solar power in the US and abroad at a forum sponsored by the Atlantic Council, a think tank, in Washington on July 10. Landis commented on China's increased capacity in solar-equipment production and the impact on consumers and the world's energy markets. BP began operating in China in 1973 and has so far invested more than $4 billion in the country, where it has more than 30 joint ventures and wholly owned enterprises over 4,000 workers.
