Bloody rice
A group of scientists from China's Wuhan University have developed a way to create human blood from rice. It is the most efficient method of creating human blood to date. While the rice may provide a great source of treatment for burn victims or others in need of blood donation, the technology could cause some problems.
Murder!
After the King of Pop's surprise death in 2009, rumors began circulating about his doctor providing a dangerous amount of sleeping and relaxation pills. As a result, a jury found Dr Conrad Murray, who was touring with Michael Jackson as his personal physician, guilty of involuntary manslaughter. But it seems to be high time for judges granting appeals, like the judges who presided over the Amanda Knox and Casey Anthony trials.
Single's Day

Cleaning a spill?
The art community is outraged at a woman who was hired to clean a museum in Germany. After seeing a puddle of what looked like dripping water near an exhibit, the cleaning lady went to work and wiped it up. What she didn't realize is the piece is called When it Starts Dripping from the Ceiling, and the puddle was actually paint carefully placed by the artist. She may be shunned in the art community, but I could think of another industry where she could probably thrive.
This wacky world!
A dentist in Canada paid nearly $27,000 (170,000 yuan) for the tooth of The Beatles legend John Lennon. I wonder what else he has in that collection.
Pirated copies of Steve Jobs' new biography are huge sellers in China. That shouldn't be too shocking considering the slew of pirated Apple stores making news in this country.
First-year students at Tianjin University of Science and Technology are upholding a 12-year tradition of cleaning toilets. Designed to teach them the value of labor, one student said the job has taught her "to respect and understand other people".
