Tim Baker and his wife co-founded the Shepherd's Field Children's Village in 2003, Since then, over the years, the Village organization has cared for more than 4,000 orphans, paid for more than 3,000 operations and medical procedures and have been carried out, about 900 children have been adopted.
The village, which is located in Tianjin's Wuqing district, is a compound of 11 buildings, including five dormitories, a school, a workshop recreation rooms and a medical clinic.The village receives children from orphanages around country. The majority of them come from impoverished rural areas.
