16 dead in burned ferry in Indonesia

JAKARTA - Three dead bodies were found inside the ferry Laut Teduh II that was burned in Indonesia's Sunda Strait on Friday, raising the number of total fatalities to 16, a local media reported on Sunday.

The MetroTV private television reported that one body was found inside an ambulance while the other two were found under stairs of the upper deck.

The TV reported that the body in the ambulance was completely burned while the other two were found in one piece as they were found under a stack of fruits.

Meanwhile, the ferry was still in smoke.

Official data on Friday said that 13 people were killed out of 440 passengers.
