NEW DELHI - India Thursday reiterated that it's firm on its stand that Pakistan should bring the perpetrators of Mumbai terror attacks to justice, asserting the on-going dialogue with Islamabad was aimed at normalizing relations.
"It is our expectation that all those responsible for the Mumbai terrorist attack will be brought to justice expeditiously. This position is shared by the international community at large, particularly those countries whose nationals were killed during this horrific attack," the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said.
Regarding the ongoing talks with Pakistan, the Ministry said: " This dialogue will naturally seek to address our terrorism-related concerns, particularly with respect to the Mumbai terrorist attack. "
"We will certainly take it up. We are in constant touch with the Pakistani government through our diplomatic channels," Krishna told the media Wednesday.
Tahawwur Hussain Rana, who allegedly planned and conducted the Mumbai recce before the deadly terror attacks in November 2008, and currently in US custody, reportedly said that his acts of providing material support to terrorists in the Mumbai attacks " were done at the behest of the Pakistani government and the ISI, not the Lashkar (e-Toiba) terrorist organization."
Rana and his accomplice David Headley aka Dawood Gilani, the two Pakistanis, are currently facing trial in Chicago for their role in Mumbai terror attacks in which over 170 people were killed. The duo were arrested by the FBI in 2009. Their trial is to begin at a Chicago court on May 16.
