Marrakesh blast in Morocco is 'terrorist attack'

RABAT - The Moroccan interior ministry affirmed on Thursday that the blast which occurred in a cafe in the city of Marrakesh is a "terrorist attack", according to Al-Arabiya news channel.

Earlier in the day, a security official said that a terror plan was behind the explosion.

According to recent figures, the death toll from the blast increased to 15 including six French nationals, in addition to the injury of 20 others, mostly Europeans, said Al-Arabiya.

An investigation has been launched into the incident, according to a senior official at the ministry.

A blast badly hit the Argana cafe in the Jamaa Lafna Square on Thursday leading to a complete destruction of the first floor.
