WASHINGTON - US Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has won the Wyoming caucuses, US TV networks projected Wednesday night.

Wyoming Republicans have been holding caucuses throughout February, casting votes in straw polls to select their favorite presidential candidate. The last of the state's 23 counties, Sweetwater County, held its caucus Wednesday night.

Based on results released by the Wyoming Republican Party, CNN projected Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, won 39 percent of the votes cast in straw polls conducted at county-level caucuses through Tuesday.

Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum came in second with 33 percent of the poll, followed by Texas Congressman Ron Paul with 20 percent and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich with 8 percent. The state has 26 delegates to the national convention. CNN estimates Romney will pick up 10 delegates, while Santorum will take in 9.

Wyoming is Romney's third win this week, after the sweeps in Arizona and Michigan on Tuesday.
