WASHINGTON - Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has warned that the United States can "expect everything" if it attacks Syria.
In an interview with CBS aired on Monday, he said if there were US military strikes on Syria, the United States "should expect everything."
"You are going to pay the price if you are not wise with dealing with terrorists," Assad said, warning that there will be repercussions for any US military attack.
US President Barack Obama has been seeking congressional authorization for a limited military action against Syria, which he says is aimed at punishing Assad's government for perpetrating a chemical weapons attack outside Damascus on August 21.
