1st blue paper on Canada issued in China

Sino-Canadian relations are showing sound and healthy development trends, with strong momentum in trade and energy, according to the first blue paper on Canada in China, issued in Guangzhou on Tuesday.

With accelerating globalization, many global and regional matters call for closer cooperation among large countries. Therefore, motives and room have expanded for strengthened exchange and cooperation between the two countries in every field, the report said.

The Annual Report on the Development of Canada (2014) was compiled by the Center for Canadian Studies of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, which is a Cultivation Base for Regional and National Studies of the Ministry of Education, and published by Social Sciences Academic Press.

The report analyses and forecasts the situation for Canada in political development, foreign affairs, economic management, social security, environmental governance, and culture and education last year and this year, said Zhong Weihe, president of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies.

It focuses on issues such as Sino-Canadian relations and bilateral cooperation in energy and trade.
