SHIPPING BUSINESS CELEBRATES 50th ANNIVERSARY

The Foremost Group, a New York-based shipping, trading and finance enterprise, celebrated its 50th anniversary at the Harvard Club in New York on Dec 19. Foremost was founded by James S.C. Chao, an American merchant mariner, business leader and philanthropist. He and his late wife had six daughters including Elaine L. Chao (standing center), US Secretary of Labor from 2001 to 2009.
