Nepal's business advantages highlighted
Nepal's top diplomat in China welcomed more Chinese investors to take advantage of immense opportunities in his country and appealed for more Chinese people to travel to the country ranked by Lonely Planet as the world's fifth best tourist destination for 2017.
Speaking at a seminar on Investment Opportunities in Nepal in Beijing on Thursday, Nepalese Ambassador to China Leela Mani Paudyal highlighted the technical, human and financial capabilities of China in building infrastructure, including energy networks, and its efforts to bolster common prosperity in the region under the One Belt, One Road initiative.
"You can link with Nepalese enterprises to develop products and services according to the need of the Chinese market and help promote that product in China," he told entrepreneurs from different various provinces.
Referring to the Lonely Planet listing Nepal as a top tourist destination for 2017, the ambassador appealed for more Chinese tourists to go to Nepal and enable the tourism industry to boost the economy after the 2015 earthquake that claimed the lives of more than 8,000 people.
The ambassador also discussed the "Investment Summit" to be organized by the government of Nepal on March 2-3 as a mega event in Kathmandu and invited entrepreneurs to participate in the summit.
Li Yunyan, executive chairman and secretary general of the Belt and Road Ambassadors Forum Committee (AFC) said that Nepal is one of the most attractive investment destinations and urged the entrepreneurs to explore investment opportunities.
Speaking at the seminar, Li Debiao, former ambassador of China to Nepal, said that choosing Nepal as an investment destination would be the right decision as it has adopted solid investment policies, ensuring safety and security and the business environment there is favorable.
