Liu Xiaobo's liver deteriorating,doctors say
Doctors treating Liu Xiaobo, a convicted criminal released on medical parole, have found that his liver function is deteriorating, according to an official release on Thursday.
Liu's level of bilirubin, a pigment made by the breakdown of red blood cells, is rising and doctors suspect he has a blood clot in his left calf, the First Hospital of China Medical University said in a statement.
The hospital said it has organized a panel specialists to discuss further treatment.
Liu has been at the hospital in Shenyang, Liaoning province, since he was diagnosed with live cancer in June.
