It’s a city of flowers. It’s a city of talents. And, it’s a city of the future through children’s eyes.
Have you ever imagined what the cities of the future would look like? What kind of neighborhood would you want to live in? Here, children from Russia present their most daring and imaginative projections of the future to the world at the Russia Pavilion.
The illustrations of “The City of the Future through Children’s Eyes” were selected from 300 pieces from 50 art schools and paint shops from all over Russia. Children suggested new architectural elements for the city’s infrastructure and expressed their visions of the most rational and comfortable organization of life in a city, and the designers of the Russia Pavilion presented their romantic ideas to the whole world—because Russia believes “the best city is the one where children are happy.”
When you wander around “The City of Talents,” you can listen to the young experts describing their own pure visions, unencumbered by conventions; their different views of future developments; and how they solve the serious problems that specialists have been raking their brains over for years with amazing ease. Being surrounded by the giant flowers, it is as if you have walked into the city park of a fairy tale, where inventions and innovations make residents’ lives harmonious.
This is a world filled with the most colorful dreams of children. This is a world where our future generations may live.
