Contemporary Ballet - Echoes of Eternity in Beijing

The Chinese poem Song of Everlasting Sorrow, based upon the theme of a legendary tale narrating in verse the tragedy of a romance between Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang dynasty, and Yang Yuhuan, his beloved imperial concubine, was composed by Bai Juyi. Shanghai Grand Theater and Shanghai Ballet shall co-produce Ballet Echoes of Eternity based on the poem inviting choreographer Patrick de Bana. The production will illustrate the love of emperor with the understanding of people nowadays. The stars from Shanghai Ballet will demonstrate the poetic love and unrepeatable regret through contemporary ballet vocabularies.
