This play, with its tightly knit structure, distinct personalities of the characters, dramatic conflicts, quick-witted language and edgy style, has had a deep influence on modern comedy.

MahuaFunAge Production Li Cha's Aunt

Following the sold-out film Goodbye Mr. Loser, MahuaFunAge Production presents another commission Li Cha's Aunt, a story revolving around money, deceit and twisted life as a result. This drama, codirected by Wu Yuhan and Zhang Yiming, invites many famous actors. The highlights of this drama include the plots where the male actors dresses like women, changing clothes six times on stage in half an hour, speaking with a high-pitched voice and wearing high heels, making the Beijing Comedy Theatre a sea of joy.

Dadao Culture The Stage

The Stage is a large and original stage comedy in 2015. It is produced by Dadao Culture, written by famous scriptwriter Yu Yue, directed by famous comedy performance artist Chen Peisi and starring Chen Peisi and Yang Lixin. In over a 2-hour performance, more than 20 characters display a story of the survival of a drama ensemble in troubled times, advocating the Chinese traditional culture represented by Peking opera and inspiring the audience to reflect on the traditional cultural inheritance. The script took almost 2 years to complete. The comedy made its debut as the opening drama of the Beijing Comedy Theatre on July 16, 2015, caused a sensation throughout Beijing, continually sold out and attracted great attention from different fields of the society.

Huang Ying Studio Production A Pipe Dream

In 2011, the modern Chinese drama A Pipe Dream premiered at Festival d'Avignon. This drama was staged for 24 times in a row and was acclaimed as 'the most Chinese-style program'. Then, It was restaged at Beijing Fringe Festival and presented at the NCPA at the same year. In 2013, it was specially performed in Singapore, invited by Singapore's Huayi Chinese Festival of Arts. In the following year, it toured in Hamburg and Frankfurt, Germany, enjoying tremendous popularity. Also, it was staged as a closing program at the 22nd BeSeTo Festival in 2015.
