Venue: Beijing Concert Hall
Price: 100-580 yuan
Peking Sinfonietta and City of Glasgow Chorus team up to perform Ralph Vaughn Williams's A Sea Symphony, his first essay in symphonic form, and one of the greatest large scale English choral works. From the thrilling opening brass chords and the crashing wave of the choir's first entry, to the final calm after the storm, this four movement work brings you the world's oceans in all their moods and colors. Bring your aural surfboard and lifejacket. In the first half of the concert, Peking Sinfonietta explores equally colorful English repertoire. The "Three Elizabeths" Suite shows Eric Coates at the height of his powers.
