Buddhist monks look at a tsunami memorial which was made last year in memory of 1517 people, including those caught in a train, killed during the December 26, 2004 tsunami, in Peraliya Hikkaduwa, Sri Lanka December 25, 2006. Sri Lanka was the second worst area affected by the tsunami, after Indonesia. More than 38,000 people were killed, thousands were left injured and over half a million rendered homeless. [Reuters]
