Nepal condemns Bhutto's assassination(Xinhua)
Updated: 2007-12-28 20:05 KATHMANDU -- The Nepali government and major political parties have condemned the assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister and Pakistan People's Party leader Benezir Bhutto Thursday evening. The Nepal government and various political parties Friday expressed deep sorrow at the death of Bhutto and condemned the terrorist attack. Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala said he was shocked to hear the murder of Bhutto. Foreign minister Sahana Pradhan also termed the murder as an attempt to kill democracy. The Nepali Congress party and the Communist Party Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist also condemned the murder. Bhutto was killed in a suicide attack in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, Thursday evening while returning from an election rally. |
