YAOUNDE: Representatives from 40 countries are participating in the 57th congress of women business leaders ( FCEM) in the world, which was opened on Monday in the Cameroonian capital Yaounde.

In the opening remarks, Cameroonian Minister of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa wished that women attending the meeting in Yaounde form partnership with other entrepreneurs in their respective countries.

Besides the exchange of expertise, the business leaders were scheduled to visit tourist sites of Cameroon and have discussions on the economic issue affecting the world.

In a message read by his representative in Cameroon, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called on the business leaders to get involved in the fight against climate change, which he said is the most important issue in the world.

The workshop is expected to end on Friday with a "Yaounde declaration", organizers said.

The FCEM network, created in France in 1945 by Yvonne Foinant, is composed of more than 60 countries in five continents. Its main objective is to promote and reinforce initiatives by women entrepreneurs in the entire world in the spirit of friendship and solidarity.
