BUDAPEST - Hungarian parliament on Saturday approved a new government led by the Fidesz Party's Viktor Orban, who was sworn in as prime minister on the same day.
Orban won the backing of 261 lawmakers, while 107 voted against him. The lawmakers also approved the program of Orban's government.
Orban was nominated as a candidate for prime minister by President Laszlo Solyom on May 14, following a landslide victory of the conservative Fidesz party in parliamentary elections in April.
The ministers of the new cabinet will be sworn in later on Saturday.
