KABUL - A Taliban key commander affiliated with Haqani network was killed as Afghan and NATO-led troops stormed militants' hideout in eastern Khost province, a press release of NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said Monday.

However, it did not give the exact figure of those suspected insurgents killed in the operation.
Haqani network is the military wing of Taliban fighters headed by Mawlawi Jalaludin Haqani, which has been involved in carrying out suicide attacks, roadside bombings and laying ambushes on security forces.
Taliban militants have yet to make comment.
