4 killed in military plane crash in US state of Alaska

SAN FRANCISCO - All four people on board a military cargo plane were killed after the plane crashed on Wednesday evening at Elmendorf Air Force Base in the US state of Alaska, the US Air Force confirmed on Thursday.

Three of the crew were members of the Alaska Air National Guard and the remaining one was active-duty Air Force from Elmendorf, Alaska's Anchorage Daily News said on its website, citing reports from the US Air Force.

At a press briefing held on Thursday morning, military officials from the Elmendorf Air Force Base said the C-17 cargo plane crashed about a minute after takeoff as the crew practiced for an upcoming air show, giving no further details about the cause of the crash.
