BANGKOK --Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva left for Vietnam to attend 17th ASEAN summit in Hanoi on Thursday morning.

The prime minister is likely to have bilateral talks with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen to discuss border issue and extradition of some "red-shirts" core-leaders who were wanted on arrest warrant and fled to Cambodia, a local website Independent News Network reported.
Abhisit is scheduled to return to Bangkok on Saturday.
The Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) was established in August 1967 and consists of 10 nation members - Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Brunei, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam and Cambodia. The main purposes of the organization were to accelerate the economic growth, social progress and cultural development in the region through joint endeavours.
