BEIJING - China again strongly urges all parties concerned to responsibly start negotiations and solve the problems on the Korean Peninsula through peaceful means, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Jiang Yu said Saturday.
Calling the situation "extraordinarily complicated" and "sensitive", Jiang said that if bloodshed fights happen, the first to suffer would be the people of the Korean Peninsula. That would also destabilize the region and endanger their neighboring countries, she added.
She said people from countries in the region and the international community strongly want alleviation rather than escalation, dialogues rather than confrontation and peace, rather than wars.
China, undoubtedly, firmly opposes any action that might lead to escalation of tensions or destabilization in the region, said Jiang.
Jiang again called on all concerned parties to make constructive efforts to alleviate the tensions.
