Nazarbayev is visiting at the invitation of Chinese President Hu Jintao, ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu told a regular press briefing.

Hu will hold formal talks with Nazarbayev, who will also meet separately with Wu Bangguo, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and Premier Wen Jiabao, Ma said.

Both sides will exchange in-depth views on strengthening bilateral relations and pragmatic cooperation, including on issues of international and regional common concern. They will also sign a series of documents on bilateral cooperation, Ma said.

Nazarbayev will also visit north China's Tianjin Municipality.

"We believe the visit will further enhance mutual political trust, deepen pragmatic cooperation and push forward the China-Kazakhstan strategic partnership," Ma said.
