CANBERRA - The West Australian state government on Monday announced to donate $10,742 to the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the Save the Children Fund as gifts to mark the upcoming royal wedding.

According to West Australia state Premier Colin Barnett, on behalf of his government and all West Australians, he wished the couple all the best for the wedding.

"It will be a great boost for the United Kingdom, there will be a lot of pomp and ceremony and millions of people will celebrate and enjoy it," he said in a statement released on Monday.

He said that the donations will be in the name of Prince William and Catherine Middleton as the present from West Australian government to mark their wedding on Friday.

The donations to the Save the Children Fund will assist the African nations of Mozambique and Malawi.
