NEW DELHI - Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has announced that it has built one of the country's fastest supercomputers with a theoretical peak performance of 220 trillion operations per second, local media reported Tuesday.

The computer was fully designed and built at Vikram Sarabhai Space Center in the southern Indian state of Kerela's capital Thiruvananthapuram, "using commercially available hardware, open source software components and in-house developments", ISRO was quoted as saying.
It costs 140 million rupees ($3 million) to build, the report said.
