WASHINGTON - Britain's Prince Charles began a three-day visit to Washington on Tuesday to focus largely on environmental sustainability, the British Embassy said.
The heir to the British throne will be the keynote speaker at a "Future of Food" conference at Georgetown University, where he is expected to talk about local, organic, and sustainable food production.
The Prince of Wales will also meet with President Barack Obama to discuss energy and the environment, the British and American military partnership, and to look ahead to Obama's state visit at the end of the month, according to a statement.
Charles was scheduled to visit Common Good City Farm, an urban farm that caters to low-income residents, on Tuesday afternoon.
Charles' trip comes shortly after the widely televised and watched marriage of his son, Prince William, to Kate Middleton.
