BANGKOK - A Chinese woman has been found dead in her hotel room in southern Thailand's tourist destination of Phuket Town, local media reported Saturday.
The woman was identified as Hou Juan, 31, from northeast China' s Liaoning province by a passport found in the room, according to Phuket Gazette.
A hotel maid found the body lying face down in the bed with blood in the nose when she entered Hou's room Thursday afternoon.
A diplomat with the Chinese Embassy in the Thai capital Bangkok said he was not aware of the case and would seek more information from the Thai authorities. Investigation is under way.
