WASHINGTON - US President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron on Tuesday discussed over phone the ongoing eurozone crisis and the upcoming G20 summit, White House said in a statement.
In their "regular and close consultations on issues of mutual concern," the two leaders discussed the "economic situation in Europe, as well as preparations for the June 18-19 G20 summit in Los Cabos, Mexico," said the statement.
Obama also took the chance to commend Cameron for the British special forces raid over the weekend that freed several hostages in Afghanistan, including a British aid worker, said the White House.
Finally, Obama expressed his congratulations to the British queen on her Diamond Jubilee, the White House added.
The upcoming G20 summit in Mexico is expected to cover a broad agenda, including the eurozone crisis, financial regulation, food security, green growth.
