WASHINGTON - The US Treasury Department said on Monday that Under Treasury Secretary for International Affairs Lael Brainard was set to travel to Europe this week to discuss key economic issues with European officials.
Brainard would travel to Spain, France and Germany on September 10-12 and meet with senior government officials to discuss their plans to "achieve financial stability and growth in Europe and globally," the department said in a statement.
The Obama administration has been in close contact with European leaders on tackling the eurozone debt crisis, as it has posed a serious threat to US and global economic growth.
