Japanese warships call on Vladivostok for joint drill

VLADIVOSTOK, Russia - Two Japanese warships arrived Vladivostok Sunday for a visit and joint anti-pirate drills with Russia.

The two Japanese ships - destroyer Ariake and frigate Oyodo - will join Russian destroyer Admiral Panteleyev and other vessels for joint anti-pirate drills on Wednesday off the coast of Vladivostok, local media reported.

During the visit, the Japanese military delegation will visit the command of the Russian Pacific Fleet and the Vladivostok city administration.
