Typhoon Son-Tinh kills at least 4 in Vietnam

HANOI - Typhoon Son-Tinh, also known as Storm 8 in Vietnam, left 4 people dead, 6 missing and 7 injured on Monday, reported Vietnam's state news agency.

Among the dead, three people were from central Quang Ngai province and one from northern Hai Phong port city.

According to initial reports from Hai Phong Flood and Storm Prevention Committee, this storm has caused heaviest damages in the province for the past decade.

Besides human loss, the province suffered huge property damages, with over 2,000 houses destroyed.

Northern Thai Binh province had over 300 houses damaged and 361 hectares of rice field flooded, reported local authority.
