VIENNA - Russia is not delivering "destabilizing weapons" to Syria, even though there was no UN embargo in place, said the head of Russia's Presidential Administration on Friday.
"We do not support the (Bashar al-)Assad government," Sergei Ivanov was quoted as saying in Vienna by APA.
Russia could not do anything about weapons that had been delivered to Syria decades ago, he said. According to Ivanov, insurgents in the country had access to dangerous weapons.
Nevertheless, Ivanov warned against foreign intervention in the conflict in Syria.
