5.6-magnitude quake hits eastern New Guinea region, Papua New Guinea

HONG KONG - An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale jolted eastern New Guinea region, Papua New Guinea at 19:50:21 GMT on Friday (03:50:21 Beijing Time), the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 118.90 km, was initially determined to be at 7.6329 degrees south latitude and 146.9626 degrees east longitude.
