VLADIVOSTOK - A cargo train carrying tanks of jet fuel derailed Tuesday in Russia's Amur Region but caused no casualties.

Eleven fuel carriages went off the rails between the stations of Ayachi and Yerofey Pavlovich late Tuesday, with seven of them tipping over, according to a report by RIA Novosti news agency.

One railway power line pylon was broken and 150 meters of track was damaged in the accident. Leaked fuel also polluted an area of 400 square meters.

The authorities said the damaged section of rail would be restored before Wednesday evening and the fuel spill would be cleared by the following evening.
